Create an incentive for positive behavior in your classroom with this colorful poster! When a child does something positive, write their name on a fish!

Let's Do This!

Step 1:

  1. Paint the wood letters for KINDNESS with green paint. Let dry.
  2. Paint the wood letters for COOL with blue paint. Let dry.

Step 2:

  1. Draw a light pencil line 2 ¾" down from the top edge of the poster. Draw another light pencil line 5" down from the top edge of the poster. These will be guidelines for letter placement. Note: When placing the letters on the guidelines keep them just slightly above the pencil lines. This will allow you to easily erase the pencil lines once the letters are in place.

Step 3:

  1. Using tape runner, adhere the word KINDNESS to the poster on your top guideline from step 2. The letter K is 1 ¾" from the left side edge of the poster.
  2. Using tape runner, adhere the word COOL to the poster on your top guideline from step 2. The letter L is 2" from the right side edge of the poster.

Step 4:

  1. Using letter stickers, adhere the word IS on the top guideline, centered between KINDNESS and COOL.
  2. Using letter stickers, adhere the words IN OUR SCHOOL on the bottom guideline from Step 2.

Step 5:

  1. Erase the pencil guidelines.

Step 6:

  1. Make seaweed! Attach strips of blue and green crepe paper to the bottom edge of the poster. Twist and tape each seaweed piece at random points, attaching it to the poster. Vary the lengths of each piece for a more interesting look. Keep your seaweed patch on the bottom 10" of the poster.

Step 7:

  1. Make fish! Using the template: Print out the template. Adhere the template to a heavier cardstock. Without the template: Draw a simple fish shape on a piece of paper. Adhere your drawn fish paper to a heavier cardstock.
  2. Cut out the fish template.
  3. Use the fish template to create a school of fish! Trace the template onto assorted colors of cardstock.
  4. Cut out your fish!

Step 8:

  1. Adhere fish to poster.
  2. Write name on fish when child earns a reward.
