Classroom Welcome Wreath

Level of difficulty:  Beginner

Welcome students back to the classroom with a wreath made from school supplies! The chalkboard can be personalized with your name, room number, or a subject you teach. Decorate the wreath with fun supplies you have on hand!

Step 1:

  1. Cut the metal wreath frame to remove the inner two rings. Tip: Save them for another craft project!

 

Step 2:

  1. Randomly fold a piece of paper.
  2. Wrap the folded paper around the wreath frame.
  3. Hot glue the folded paper in place. Continue folding pieces of paper and adding them to the wreath frame.

 

Step 3:

  1. Completely cover the wreath frame with folded paper.

 

Step 4:

  1. Cut paper in half. Randomly fold a half-sheet of paper.
  2. Hot glue folded half-sheets of paper to the four corners of the chalkboard. This will give you a gauge to keep your paper even as you attach it around the chalkboard.

 

Step 5:

  1. Hot glue half-sheets of paper around the whole chalkboard.

 

Step 6:

  1. Apply hot glue to the back of the chalkboard.
  2. Flip the chalkboard over and place it on the wreath frame. Press to secure the hot glue in place.

 

Step 7:

  1. Write a message on the chalkboard with a chalkboard marker. Let dry.­

 

Step 8:

  1. Decorate the wreath with school supplies like crayons, pencils, and scissors by hot gluing them in place.
