Candied Nuts

Better For You Note: These candied nuts are delicious as a dessert topping or on their own! Nuts offer essential vitamins and minerals as well as protein and healthy fats - a little more nutrition than your standard dessert! The sugar is reduced in this recipe and no additional salt is added beyond the already salted packaged nuts. 

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. 
  2. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper, then use cooking spray to coat. 
  3. Combine all nuts in a large bowl, then toss in egg white. 
  4. Add half (⅛ cup) of brown sugar and half (⅛ cup) of white sugar and mix well. 
  5. Spread nut mixture evenly over pan. Sprinkle cinnamon (to taste) then remaining sugars over nuts. 
  6. Place in oven and bake 15 minutes on a low rack, until nuts are toasted and fragrant.
