Faux Metal Wreath

Create your own Faux Metal Wreath to bring a touch of farmhouse beauty to any room in your home! The wreath features faux metal magnolia leaves with a distressed, rusted texture for a vintage look. This craft is easy to make, uses a few basic supplies, and still looks like an expensive home décor item!

Step 1:

Print two copies of the template. Cut out the leaf template on one of the copies.
Trace and cut out 20 leaves from the black poster board.

Step 2:

Apply silver metallic paint to one side of each leaf using a dabbing motion. Be sure to dab randomly and in all different directions. Let dry. Note: The leaves will curl when they are wet but will flatten out again when dry.
Flip the leaves over and paint the other side with the silver metallic paint using the same random dabbing technique. Let dry. Note: The leaves will curl when they are wet but will flatten out again when dry.

Step 3:

Fold the leaves in half to create a crease down the center.
Put brown paint, silver metallic paint, and cinnamon in a palette.

Step 4:

Open the leaves back up. Dip a paint brush into the brown paint and dab onto a leaf in random places.

Step 5:

Dip the same paint brush into the cinnamon and dab it on top of the wet brown paint.

Step 6:

Dip the same paint brush into the silver metallic paint and then the cinnamon. Dab the brush in random areas on the leaf. Let dry. Repeat for all the leaves.

Step 7:

Tape the second template copy onto a piece of cardboard and then cut out the wreath form.
Hot glue the burlap ribbon to the cardboard wreath form.
Wrap burlap ribbon around the cardboard wreath form to cover it.
Secure the burlap ribbon with hot glue.
