Leaf Trinket Dish

Level of difficulty:  Beginner

Create this eye-catching, expensive-looking trinket dish made with oven bake clay and a leaf! Painted with a metallic gold finish, this project will look like you purchased it from a high-end department store.

What You'll Need:

Let's Do This!

Step 1:

  1. Roll out clay to about 3/8" thickness.
  2. Select a leaf in the size you’d like your dish to be. Lay the leaf on top of the clay, vein side down.

Step 2:

  1. Roll the rolling pin over the leaf to make an impression in the clay. Gently remove the leaf from the clay.

Step 3:

  1. Cut out the clay leaf using a project knife.
  2. Remove the excess clay as you cut to reveal the leaf shape.

Step 4:

  1. Lay the clay leaf imprint-side down over the bottom of a small bowl.

Step 5:

  1. Bake the clay leaf at 250 degrees for 15 minutes. Let cool.

Step 6:

  1. Paint the clay leaf dish gold. Let dry.
