    Steps to Crate Training

Crate training a puppy is a simple concept that is easy to do. To ensure crate training success, you must remain consistent.

Begin crate training your puppy as soon as you get home. Take a treat and throw it into the kennel. When the puppy follows it in there, close the kennel door. Use the command "kennel" as the dog makes his or her way toward the dog crate. Leave the puppy in the crate for a while and repeat the process multiple times a day.

After a period of two to three days, the puppy should be entering the crate on command. Then you can cut out the treats.
