    • Crafter’s Closet Precision Scissors
    • Painter’s Tape
    • Pencil Top Eraser
    • Wire Cutters
    • Paper Clip

    Let's Do This!

    Step 1:

    1. Wrap beading wire three times around the top of a glass jar to measure length needed. Note: Allow a bit extra for twisting. Cut the wire.
    2. Put about 10–12 pearl beads on the wire and scatter them along the length. Twist the ends of the wire to secure it in place.

    Step 2:

    1. Cut one 36" piece, one 13" piece, and 24 5" pieces of craft cord.

    Step 3:

    1. Fold the 13" piece of craft cord in half.
    2. Make a loop and pull tight so a knot forms towards the closed end of the craft cord.
    3. Leave a little loop at the top.
    4. Secure the craft cord to the table with a piece of painter’s tape.

    Step 4:

    1. Fold a 5" piece of craft cord in half and place it under the taped craft cord as shown, so the closed end is on the left. This forms the left loop.
    2. Fold a second 5" piece of craft cord in half and place it over the taped craft cord as shown, with the closed end on the right. This forms the right loop. Tuck the open ends under the left loop.
    3. Pull the left loop's open ends up and over the right loop.
    4. Pull the open ends of both loops to form a knot in the center.

    Step 5:

    1. Repeat Steps 4A through 4D with the remaining 5" pieces of craft cord.
    2. Your piece should look like this.

    Step 6:

    1. Unravel all the pieces of craft cord. Tip: We used an open paper clip to unravel the craft cord. The slim, pointed end works well to get in between the fibers and unravel them.
    2. Use scissors to shape the fringes into a feather.
    3. Insert the 36” piece of craft cord into the loop at the top of the feather and wrap the craft cord around the jar.
    4. Knot the craft cord to secure. Snip off any excess, if desired.

    Step 7:

    1. Apply tacky glue to the bottom of a glass jar. Press the end of the craft cord into the wet tacky glue to secure it in place. Wrap the craft cord around the bottom 1/3 of the glass jar.
    2. Cut the craft cord and use tacky glue to secure the end in place.

    Step 8:

    1. Dip the eraser end of a pencil into tacky glue and make dots randomly on the glass jar.
    2. Sprinkle glitter over the wet glue dots. Tap off any excess. Let dry.
    3. Apply pearl gem stickers to the glass jar, randomly mixed in with the glitter dots.

    Step 9:

    1. Place a strip of painter’s tape about 1/3 of the way up the jar.
    2. Place a strip of painter’s tape above and below the first piece. Leave about a 3/8" strip in between the pieces of tape.
    3. Apply tacky glue to both 3/8" strips.
    4. Sprinkle glitter over the wet glue strips. Tap off any excess. Let dry. Remove tape.

    Step 10:

    1. Cut nine 12" pieces of craft cord.
    2. Make the ends even and tape them to a work surface. Separate the strands into three groups of three.
    3. Braid the strands, making sure to keep the braid flat as you go.
    4. Tape the other end of the braid to the work surface. Apply tacky glue to both ends of the braid to secure the loose ends. Let dry.

    Step 11:

    1. Remove the tape from the ends of the braid. Wrap the braid around the glass jar, in between the glitter stripes. Tip: Use double-sided tape to hold the braid in place.
    2. Trim the ends of the braid so they meet neatly.
    3. Apply tacky glue to the ends of the braid to secure them to the glass jar.
    4. Adhere pearl gem stickers around the glass jar, just under the lower glitter stripe.
