Literacy changes lives, and for more than 30 years, it’s been the Dollar General Literacy Foundation’s mission to ensure that our neighbors have access to meaningful education and transformative skills. With more than $238 million donated to fund literacy programs to date, and partnerships with schools, nonprofits, libraries, and more, we’re working every day to provide communities with the tools they need to write their own stories. See how the Foundation is Uplifting Communities Through Literacy.

Nourishing the planet

Sustaining our communities happens from the ground up. And that’s why we’re so committed to being good environmental stewards and creating sustainable change. From partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation on large-scale reforestation efforts to hosting local planting projects for our employees and their communities, we strive to maintain the vibrance of the places we call home.
