    Keep Back Pain at Bay

Did you know paying your back a little attention today can pay off BIG in the future?! Yep, you heard right! Having strong back muscles help make all those daily pick-ups, drop-offs, errands, events and meetings happen. Try these 4 tips from the Motrin® brand, and be sure to talk to your doctor if you have any questions.

    • Do some quick morning stretches.
      • Sleeping in an awkward position or lying still all night can lead to stiff muscles and feeling back pain right when you wake up. Learning a few quick stretches for back pain and doing them daily can keep your back strong.
    • Put your back into your workouts.
      • Don’t forget to use your back muscles in your regular workout routine. Try the Bridge exercise a couple times a week.
    • Get into the habit of lifting properly, every time.
      • Sounds silly, but your back is worth it! Remember to bend your knees whenever you’re lifting to prevent any future injury.
    • Sleep on your side, with a pillow between your knees.
      • Sleeping on your stomach may sound tempting, but it could stress your back muscles and damage your spine. Make sure you sleep in a position that supports your neck and shoulders.

Make sure you consult with your doctor before starting or changing a workout plan. Find more tips on managing and preventing muscle and body pain from the Motrin® brand.
