Program Emails

There are 11 emails associated with the DG AutoDeliver Program. The list includes:

1. Welcome to Subscription ProgramNew subscribers receive this email immediately after enrolling in DG AutoDeliver.
2. Order PlacementSent to subscribers once order is placed with Dollar General.
3. Order Not Placed-Credit Card IssueSent to subscribers if a 'Rejected' order occurs.
4. Order ReminderSent to subscribers 10 days before the next scheduled order delivery. The order reminder timing can be customized per subscription.
5. Credit Card ExpirationSent to subscribers with expired default credit cards on the 1st and the 15th of every month if the next order is in the following month.
6. Credit Card ExpiredSent to subscriber if Dollar General attempts to place an order but identifies CC expiration date is in the past.
7. Item DiscontinuedAll subscribers with a subscription for the previously available/now discontinued item receive this email communication.
8. Order Retry ? Out of StockSent to subscribers the 1st and 15th day(s) Dollar General attempts to place an order for an out of stock item.
9. Order Failure ? Out of StockSent to subscribers the 30TH day that Dollar General attempts to place an order for an out of stock item. If the item is still out of stock 30 days after the initial order attempt, the order is cancelled and the original delivery schedule is maintained.
10. Subscription CancelledSent to subscribers immediately if the customer cancels a subscription.
11. Subscription ReactivatedSent to subscribers immediately if the customer reactivates a subscription.

Customer Reminder Timeframe

Dollar General sets standard reminder timeframes for the following transactional emails:

  • Order Reminder (#4): sent to customers ten days prior to the next scheduled delivery.
  • Credit Card Expiration Emails (#5): Sent to subscribers with expired default credit cards on the 1st and the 15th of every month if the next order is within the following month.
  • Order Retry ? Out of Stock (#8): sent to customers the 1st day and 15th day (two times) Dollar General attempts to place an order for an out of stock item.
  • Order Failure ? Out of Stock (#9): sent to customers on the 30th day that Dollar General attempts to place an order for an out of stock item. If the item is still out of stock 30 days after the initial order attempt, the order is cancelled and the order is processed again on the next scheduled order date.
  • The remaining emails are sent immediately after the specific action is performed. For example, customers receive the 'Welcome to Subscription Program' email within 24 hours of their registration for DG AutoDeliver.
