No. All requests must be mailed. Requests must be received, not postmarked, by the deadline dates. Back to Top How do you define family literacy for your family literacy grants?
Family literacy programs must have the following four components to be eligible for funding:
- Adult education instruction;
- Schools, public libraries and non-profit organizations that offer literacy programs for students who are below grade level or experiencing difficulty reading.
- Adult basic education
- GED preparation
- English for speakers of other languages
- Children's education;
- Parent and child together time (PACT); and
- Parenting classes that teach parents to be the primary teacher for their child.
